This spring break, The Spectator’s staff photographers left their home base on Capitol Hill and scattered across the country. With a break from their weekly photo assignments, the team finally had a chance to… take more photos! Take a look through their eyes (and camera lenses) to see how our photographers decompressed after finals and geared up for the quarter ahead.

Nicole flew home to Long Beach, Calif., catching stunning views of the Cascade Range on their flight as they passed over Ashford, Wash.

Justin traveled to Las Vegas, Nev., and spent time with family and friends. He visited the Neon Museum, exploring the history of Las Vegas through its signs. Two of his favorites were Oscar’s Martini, a blue martini glass with a green-glowing olive, and the Hard Rock Cafe sign, an 80-foot-tall guitar glowing in yellow and red.

On Noelle’s first night in Zion National Park in Utah, she watched the sun set over the Canyon Overlook Trail, casting a warm glow through the valley. She and her friends also ventured to visit Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef and Arches National Parks.

Back in Seattle, Roan and his rabbit, Arwen, relaxed in their backyard, also admiring the sunset. It was bun-believable.

Across the country, Sasha and her partner roamed the Boston Common, the oldest public park in the United States, where they ran into many a fearless squirrel.
