NFL Football Check-In

Keeping a hawk eye on the Seattle’s NFL team, the Seahawks were disappointing last Sunday as the team took a loss against the Colts. The 34-28 loss came after a very close game, arguable lost at the point when the Seahawks field goal had been blocked. Another sophomore quarterback match up for Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson against the Colts’ quarterbacks Andrew Luck, the other being 49ers Colin Kaepernick. Luckily the match up against Kaepernick was played on Century Link field.

CenturyLink Field, besides providing the home feeling for the team, is the loudest stadium in the world. During the said game against the 49ers the Seattle Seahawks fans achieved the loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium. The stadium achieved 136.6 dbA on Sept. 15 this season. The record breaking cheer broke out during the last minute of the first quarter when Kaepernick was sacked. The Seahawks went on to win the game. The loud stadium has been an advantage to the team for quite some time. It is noted by other teams that it is incredibly difficult to communicate and hear each other over the roaring crowd. Seattle Seahawks have a greater advantage when playing on their home turf, and they currently have a 10 game winning streak strictly at CenturyLink Field.

This season the Seahawks have been watched as a top team, but this month is putting a strain on their season. They had to play the Texans and Colts on the road, but luckily they came home this coming weekend for their game against the Titans. After the home game, the Seahawks are back on the road for the Cardinals and Rams games.

I think Seahawks fans can anticipate a win from the Titans during their home game on Sunday, and the win is much needed this week, although I don’t think the Titans are going to give up a win easily. The Seahawks dropped after the Colts loss from No.5 to No.4 in the NFL Power Rankings. Conference rank currently holds Seattle in second, just after New Orleans.

Moving attention away from the Seahawks, last weekend, the Titans were destroyed by the Chiefs, who remain undefeated as the NFL enters week 6 of games. The only other teams undefeated are the Denver Broncos and the New Orleans Saints.

In other NFL news, the Manning brothers have become polar opposites this season as far as wins go. Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Broncos is currently at 5-0 while his brother Eli with the Giants are at 0-5. Granted Peyton is bigger, older, more experienced, has more yards, more touchdowns and more wins. But his little brother Eli has two Super Bowl rings.
