Editor’s Note: For transparency and journalistic integrity, we ask that any organization that wishes to remove its signature from the 12/3/25 “Letter to the Editor: Student Letter to SU Administration Regarding Interim President” to submit a brief statement to The Spectator explaining the withdrawal of a club’s signature. In the interest of our readers’ trust, we decided on this approach as we do not modify published content without documented justification. Find below their statements:
The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Seattle University Chapter, would like to withdraw its name from the 12/3/25 Letter to the Editor. The purpose of this action is to adhere to the AFA’s sole mission of advancing Alzheimer’s awareness. Furthermore, our chapter does not have the authority to take positions on issues outside of the scope of the AFA’s mission. We hope that by removing our name from this letter we will be able to continue the charitable work of the AFA.
– Brandon Mayo, President of the Seattle University Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
