Twas a grey and rainy Saturday, and only the bravest of felines had made an appearance at Cal Anderson Park. Last Saturday was the final Caturday of the year, and despite the chilly weather and occasional sprinkle, a small group of devoted cats and cat lovers huddled together in the park. Caturday happens every first Saturday of the month from July to October. It is an event where people bring their cats to the park to socialize. Caturday never fails to attract devoted feline lovers dressed in cat attire and a whole array of critters. Here are a few of the furry friends that were present at the last Caturday.

This is Elsie, a first time attendee of Caturday. She is a curious Bengal who wandered around the park on a leash, sporting her colorful attire.

Angel comes to the park often, she enjoys walking on her leash and socializing. Her pensive eyes captivated onlookers.

Thor is a three-year-old male with a chill personality. We can only assume that he is simply tired because of his other life as a super-cat. It can’t always be hammer time.

TJ, otherwise known as Ninja Cat, is a spirited 6-month-old female. She enjoys playing with leaves and climbing trees.

Ariel was a star of the show with her beautiful blue eyes. She perched on her human’s shoulder for much of the time, and reluctantly wore a lion mane for the paparazzi.

Sebastian, a friend of Ariel, was also present at Caturday. Sebastian sat at a distance, observing the goings-on at Cal Anderson Park.

This is Diesel’s 4th time at Caturday, but he is always reluctant to leave the safety of his cage at first. He was eventually coaxed out by a feather toy.

Rosa did not appreciate the rain sprinkles and the breeze, so she spent most of her time huddled in her human’s jacket.

A bright blue and pink sweater saved Silver Bells from the rain. She and her human lounged on the grass as Silver Bells enjoyed some head scratches.

Algebra, a female Calico, has an equation on her collar. Her humans must really like math, as they have another cat named Calculus who unfortunately was not present at Caturday. Algebra laid in the grass giving humans and fellow cats an analytical stare. A fun fact was provided by Algebra’s humans: Only about one out of a thousand Calico cats are male!
