Another year, another wardrobe. Am I right?
Welcome back to a new year, Redhawks!
If you’re reading this, congratulations! You have found the Spectator’s weekly fashion column by none other than yours truly, which means 1. you have excellent decision-making skills on what you read, and 2. you probably have a passion for fashion just like myself.
Although I began this column last year, proper introductions are in order since I haven’t gotten to that yet and because a new school year means we have some new people on the block who may be reading Bows Before Bros for the first time.
I am constantly inspired by style. Fashion fades, but personal style remains. Style is taste, and taste is what gives each of us our unique edge. Imperfection, bold and daring, minimalistic, romantic, eccentric–it all inspires me. Fashion isn’t just about flashing lights, runways, cool clothes and pretty people, and I hope to break down some of those artificial barriers.
I still swoon over high fashion, but it’s also fun to see how everyday people translate that into their own wardrobe. Each week I will give you the best of both worlds. I will offer my fashion picks, the buzz in the fashion world, commentary, style inspirations near and far, local events, and let you know about the rad local shops within this wonderful Seattle city we get to call home for these four years of college.
But more importantly, I hope that somewhere along the way Bows Before Bros will inspire you in some way, teach you something new, or empower you to contribute some good in this world (or, you know, do all three).
Check back each week–there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Cheers.
