Asking For a Friend

Carlos is the better Uncle you never had.

    Q:

I’ve been sick for five days, how many classes is it acceptable to miss?

    A:

Depends on the class and how behind you might get. Some professors might grade you on attendance so make sure that you check in with them and see what kind of accommodations they can make for you until
    you get better.

    Q:

How do I become friends with Public Safety Officers?

    A:

Easy! Just talk to them. They are really friendly so when you see them walking around campus just say hi to them. Ask them to ride their Segways or maybe even buy them a snack? They’re great and I think we should interact with them more, as long as we don’t interrupt their work.

    Q:

Do you think it’s a good idea to take a quarter off if you feel overwhelmed with school?

    A:

Taking time off doesn’t sound like a bad idea, especially if you have a lot of things going on right now. Having a break is nice because you can have some more time to think about your future plans without having to worry about school at the same time. If you do decide to take some time off be sure to have a plan or some goals that you can accomplish during that time.

    Q:

Uncle Carlos, why are you so awesome at giving advice?

    A:

I’m not sure actually. I try my best to give good advice, but then again, I don’t have to.

    XOXO Uncle Carlos
